Norwegian plans new flight routes

19. januar 2020
Norwegian, Europe's third largest low-cost airline company, is planning to add more long-haul routes from London Gatwick to Latin America and Asia. The first budget direct flight from London to South America is departing from Gatwick and landing at Buenos Aires. According to Bjørn Kjos, Norwegian's Chief Executive, they are considering many new connections from Buenos Aires throughout South America as they believe South America is under-served in regards to flight connections.

Their secret to providing the low-cost flights from UK to South America, according to Mr Kjos, lies also in using the Boeing 787 Dreamliners for such routes as they are very fuel efficient (and we can say, based on the experience of entire Flyavel team, that the Dreamliners are also very comfortable).
Services to Buenos Aires from Gatwick start running on Valentine's Day, 2018. New services - to Chicago and Austin - are expected to start running from March onwards.

As far as Asia goes, Mr Kjos noted that Norwegian has Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing in their sights if they receive Moscow's permission to fly along the "Siberian corridor" which happens to be the most efficient way of reaching the Far East from Europe.

According to Mr Kjos, Norwegian are also planning cabin upgrades in 2018 for the airplanes they use for long haul flights - the most notable of those being an increase of the number of seats in their premium cabins and in-flight WiFi availability in order to attract more business passengers.
